It's Valentine's Day...
Yes, it's that day where Wal-Mart starts restocking the shelves with St. Patrick's day items and puts all the cards and candies on sale in bins towards the front. I'm not jaded, I'm actually happily married with a beautiful boy. I'm just so over the "show her how much you care by spending money you don't need to spend on items that aren't practical". Mind you I wasn't always like this, and don't get me wrong I love getting a card or some candy (I've never been big on jewelry). But now with the economy the way it is and I have a son, I'm not that big on things like that anymore. Heck, the card that I got today would have been more than enough. I've got two of the best Valentines on the planet, 4 if you want to count the dogs. But my husband surprises me and he did, he's always been the one who's gone out of his way to make sure I knew that he wasn't big on doing the flowers and all that traditional stuff, so I really don't expect a whole lot. In fact that he's working today and I really wasn't expecting anything means a whole lot to me. Aside from the card, I also got some candy. It was neat. Well, I'm off to take care of my lil valentine (I think he's hungry).
We didn't exchange presents this year (or last, now that I think about it). We did take Gaby and Katie out with us for a nice dinner, that was all I needed.
