What's been going on with me....

I haven't blogged in a while, and it's been a culmination of things: VBS, going to NC to visit my husband's family, and I've been in a funk that I am slowly working out of now. I've had many things that I've wanted to blog about but just not felt the energy. Some things were political things all the way to the progress lil man has been making. So this maybe one really long blog or 2 or 3, we will see.

And so we start.

I've been in a funk for a while now and it is finally coming to pass. I was just going through the motions around home and doing somewhat of a crappy job at it. I've always said I was pretty lazy at things but even lazy person knows when to get their butt in gear. I wasn't having any of it. I was doing bear minimum, dishes, clothes, and making dinner. I wasn't ignoring lil man. I wasn't holding him enough for my usual bonding with him. Oh, he got fed, changed, cleaned and I played with him. I just wasn't playing with him enough in my eyes. I was spending all my "free" time on the computer. Well, Big G and I had a good discussion and he noticed it too, apparently it was dragging him down as well. Well, that talk and PMS kicking in at the same time, I made the decision to stay off of the computer for 2 days. That includes my little handheld that I got from my brother. I did that and got a ton of stuff done. I dismantled the cradle in our bedroom, mind you the crib is in there but it's not up against the bed and motivates me more to get up and put him back in his crib instead of keeping him here at night. Although I do have my moments. I have also made the decision that when I "spend" time on the computer during the day it'll only be when lil man is asleep and that's for 20 minutes at the most or when Big G has him. Now sometimes I may leave the computer on during the day but I'm not guaranteeing that I'll be on it at the time. Oh and night time if I'm not too tired or busy spending time with Big G, I'll be playing catch up on here. I'm having better quality time with lil man and we've even started walking outside. Weather permitting of course. It's SUPER hot out during the day so I usually wait until nighttime.

Still on the subject of lil man, he's sitting more upright now and his 2 top front teeth are starting to come out. I can see it and he's drooling big time. He's got rug burn on his feet from walking on the carpet in the walker. We've got a pretty good military low crawl going on he can move pretty darn fast now. He's weaning himself from nursing. I'm not going to force him because I like the bonding with him. He's saying-dada, mama, bababababababa, we're reinforcing the dada and mama when he says it, so he knows 1 we're paying attention to him and 2 how his parents are, call us crazy we appreciate it.

The week before last we had Vacation Bible School at our church. Boomerang Express, I helped out with the missions for the 4 & 5 year olds. Great group of little ones and I just wish I had their energy sometimes.

This past Tuesday we went to NC to visit Big G's mom and family. We even got to visit Great Grandmommie Juanita. She hadn't seen him except in pictures and that was the best visit ever! She has Parkinsons (tremors) and she was very concerned at the time I had lil man that she wasn't going to see him or hold him. Well, thanks to her docs getting her meds in the right dosage she was able to hold him and just love on him. Now he's probably 23lbs so we had to hand him to her but that's beside the point. I'm just happy that she got to hold her 1st Great Grandchild.

We got home yesterday. We were stuck in traffic on I-77 to Charlotte for almost 2 hrs. bad accident. I truly hope the ones involved are okay the one car that we saw was just smashed all to bits. But we made it to the airport there was a group of wonderful people that allowed us to cut in line because we made the mad dash. If you were at Charlotte-Douglas yesterday flying US Airways and you let a family with a baby that had big blue eyes and a very flustered mother holding him with her husband. THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU!!!
