My beautiful little girl was born 9 days ago, 7lbs 10oz and 20 inches long. I had a c-section, which although is very painful after the fact was very much well worth it. I'm recovering pretty well, I want to get back to "normal" which I can't do right now. I get to drive in about a week, but the heavy lifting for another few more weeks. But having an active 2 almost 3 year old who is in the middle of potty training it's kinda hard. However, I'm working on sucking it up and asking for help. I have some awesome family and I'm so glad we're closer.

-This may be boring to some people-
I'll start with the last day that was my "due date". That was a Saturday and I was feeling what I thought was pre-labor pains it was the menstrual cramp feeling. I never really experienced the pre-labor stuff with my son because I was induced a week early so I wasn't too sure. Hubby and I went to the mall for me to walk it out, I had some pains but they were like 40 minutes apart and sometimes more and sometimes less. But never really super close. They kinda lingered but nothing really happened and we just waited until my appointment on Monday. Monday came around and we were there at the office, my doctor checked me, not even remotely close to being dilated. I knew that was going to happen. We then proceeded to schedule a c-section because I wouldn't have been able to be induced b/c of my prior c-section. Well, we scheduled the surgery for Wednesday.
I reported at the time I was asked to and we then proceeded getting me ready. Let me say the 2 ladies that prepped me were awesome! The only thing that was "bad" was that they blew 2 veins out in my left hand. I remembered after the fact that it happened when I was pregnant the first time. They got the IV into my right hand and everything was started. They gave me this nasty stuff that tasted like briny gatorade (yuck) and some IV bag with something in it that began with an R, supposed to help with the spinal block I was going to get. I started feeling uncomfortable, sweating, and my face turned red, it eventually calmed down. I was escorted out of the prep room and into the OR. My spinal was administered, where they told me that I was one of the stillest patients they've had in a long time. I HATE needles. The block took hardly any time to take affect and I was tilted head down for it to get where it needed to get. The uncomfortable feeling came back but something was added to my IV and that helped.
Then the surgery started. Just felt lots of pressure. The surgical team kept everything light during the procedure and then they had to vacuum suck my daughter's head out because it was competing with the fibroid and she didn't want to come out, but finally came out. I kept on asking if we had a girl because even though the ultrasounds said she was a girl I still had this paranoia about it, they sewed me up and wheeled me to recovery. I stayed there long enough and finally made it to my room and I proceeded to wait to hold my little girl. That I will say is the biggest downer of having a c-section, you don't get to hold your child as soon as they are pulled out of you.
I basically had an overnight stay, my doctor said I was doing really well and that he'd send me home if I wanted to go. So the next night we were able to go home and I was able to sleep in my own bed. Which helped my milk come in, I'm breastfeeding.
I'm sore and I'm tired and I'm enjoying every bit of it. However I need to hit the hay and get some rest. My next post will be on Lil Man's reaction to his baby sister. Next few days probably.
