My Lil Man is a big brother!

How awesome is that?!  It lasted about 5 seconds and he was like get it off me now.  Hey for a 2 year old who had his world torn upside down that day, I was impressed to be honest.

We've been home for 12 days now and it's a slow process.  His world has been thrown upside down.  I must say he's doing better than I am with adjusting.  He hasn't been getting good naps which has been causing some of the most "wonderful" meltdowns after the fact.  I'm trying a different parenting approach because of this.

He is trying his best to be a good big brother, wanting to hold his little sister, pet her, and give her kisses.  Yes, I said pet her, he isn't allowed to touch her head or face with his hands but he uses one finger to touch her arms or feet.  It is constant vigilance on our parts to keep him from squeezing her, he means well, just not having the "soft" touch.

I have been spending as much time as I can with him which is very little because it feels like she's always attached to me, but he's a big help and cracks me up when I have to change her diaper.  "Ewwww stinky sissy!" was his catch phrase tonight.

I knew this was going to be a process.  Hopefully, we'll get to some sort of routine and with time he'll get better adjusted with his little sister.  I do know that I have an awesome little boy who is going to be the best big brother in the world.
